SUNDAY’S baseball match between Porepunkah and the North Albury Bears was a memorable one for Panthers coach Heath Anders but unfortunately not so for the team.

Anders played his 328th game for the club and is now fourth on the all-time players list.

However, with no baseball for the past three weeks it was a tough day for the Panthers against the first placed Bears, whose two pitchers obtained 12 strikeouts, while their batters were able to score in all but one innings and hit four homeruns.

For the Panthers there were some notable efforts. Anders pitched the first three innings and obtained four strikeouts and only gave two walks.

He hit safely to right field, at his last at bat, and was able to score after running three bases on a dropped fly ball in leftfield.

Alex Bolitho, in his first game for the club, pitched the last three innings, finishing with the same number of strikeouts as Anders but doubling the walks given.
