THE Myrtleford Savoy senior men squandered a two goal lead against Albury United on Sunday, settling for a 2-all draw at the end of 90 minutes.
In the teams’ second meeting of the year the points were once again shared as they were on the first day of the season when things finished 1-1.
In a dominant first half display the Savoys were two up at the break after some brilliance from Matt Park in the opening 45 minutes.
Park first put his side ahead in the 15th minute when his shot took a deflection off an Albury defender and found the back of the net.
And he doubled the Savoys’ advantage in the 37th minute when he cracked a left foot strike from distance into the top corner, giving the keeper no chance.
As has been the case for much of the season the Savoys’ second halves have been the stronger part of their game, however, on this occasion that unfortunately wasn’t the case.
