MFNC set to honour its great players, members

Myrtleford Football Netball Club members Greg Matthews and Jill McNamara are preparing for the club’s second Hall of Fame induction which they hope to hold next year. The club is calling past and present associates of the club to provide information for new candidates.

Myrtleford Football Netball Club is hoping former players, officials and supporters will become involved in the Hall of Fame process as the club looks to recognise more of its greats.

After establishing the club’s Hall of Fame in 2013 the club has had one round of inductees to date, and are hoping a second Hall of Fame dinner will be held sometime next year.

The club inducted six members into its Hall of Fame in 2013, with Len Ablett, Martin Cross, Wally Cunneen, Neil Currie, Dooley McIntyre and Charlie McNamara the first to be inaugurated.

Jill McNamara and Greg Matthews worked tirelessly on the first Hall of Fame celebrations and would love information for the next group of inductees, from those past and present at the club.

“It is something we want to try and do every two years but it requires quite a lot of work so that’s why we are hoping people might be able to help us out,” Jill said.
