DEDERANG Mount Beauty’s A grade netball side is undefeated on their new home court after a courageous fightback against Yackandandah on Saturday secured a 43 all draw.
A grade coach Jenelle Williamson said the team was thrilled with the result considering it was their first game played on the recently completed courts.
“There was definitely a special feeling in the air for the first game so it’s onwards and upwards from here,” she said.
“We were 12 goals down at one stage so we were more than happy with the result.”
Gun goal shooter Alana Goznik scored the levelling goal just on the bell, capping off a brilliant personal performance which saw her score 31 goals from the side’s 43 total, shooting at a remarkable 74 per cent in the cold conditions.
Goal keeper Belinda McKillop and wing attack Chantelle Broad were best on court for the Bombers who face Wahgunyah at their new court this Saturday.
“We hope to push that home town advantage again this weekend against Wahgunyah, you just never know,” Williamson said.
