HARRIETVILLE has capped off its season in the best possible manner, winning its second premiership in three seasons with an emphatic victory in the Wangaratta and District cricket C grade grand final on Saturday.
The Hooters followed up their 2013 triumph with a 35-run victory over City Colts Blue – the same team they lost to just two weeks earlier in their semi-final.
After missing out on finals last year the Hooters looked to be facing a similar situation earlier this season.
At the end of the opening seven rounds they sat mid-table with a record of three wins, two losses, a draw and a bye.
But the team would finish the season on a 10 game winning run to claim second place on the points table and earn a double chance come finals.
After losing their first final against their grand final opponent the Hooters snuck home in the last over of the preliminary final against Rovers United to book their place in the decider.
