BRIGHT will this week battle it out for a place in the Wangaratta and District Cricket Association’s B grade grand final after finishing the home and away season in third position.

The Wanderers secured their place in the finals with victory over Wangaratta Magpies last week and will now face Yarrawonga Mulwala Rams with a spot in the final match of the season up for grabs.

Hoping for a big win last week against the Magpies the match was much closer than the Wanderers would have liked.

After posting a score of 212 on the first week of the clash – thanks to skipper Dylan Bursill (89) who continued his prolific season with the bat and contributions from Josh Grundy (37) and James Love (21) – the Wanderers aimed to have their opponents out cheaply when bowling on the weekend.

But despite Bright’s best efforts with the ball the Magpies batsmen put in a strong performance getting in sight of victory before the Wanderers had them all out for 198, 16 runs short of the their total.
