Jackie claims first prize in annual Lions’ raffle

HAPPY CUSTOMERS: Bright Lions’ Club president Brian Kelly (left) handed over a $1000 food voucher to Jackie Broughton which delighted IGA manager John Hayward (right).

THE Bright Lions Club annual Christmas raffle was another huge success in 2014, and club president Brian Kelly was thrilled to hand over first and second prizes last week.

Jackie Broughton took out the $1000 first place, while Jodie Germaine won $500 with the second place prize.

Both women chose the IGA food voucher option and IGA grocery manager John Hayward was on hand for Ms Germaine’s presentation.

Mr Kelly said the raffle didn’t run in 2013 but was resurrected last year, due to its popularity.

“All the tickets were sold before New Year’s Eve and this year we changed it to food or fuel vouchers not electrical goods as it had been in previous years,” he said.

“The Lions club is delighted with the response from the community to the raffle, with the tickets being sought after especially by the local community.
