A FINE dodger with almost 500 infringement notices totalling $132,000 is believed to be hiding out in Myrtleford.
Santo Sam Bonacci was born and raised in Myrtleford and is wanted in relation to contempt of court charges and failing to answer bail in relation to 483 infringement notices.
The infringements are for unpaid road tolls and speeding tickets which Mr Bonacci has accumulated since early 2010.
Victoria Police issued a statement last Wednesday and said he was a wanted man, putting two warrants out for his arrest.
Mr Bonacci is believed to have been in the area a number of weeks ago and local police have been searching for him since that time.
Myrtleford police’s Acting Sergeant Bernard Murphy said local police had been in contact with Mr Bonacci’s family in an attempt to try to locate him.
“We’ve spoken to his family so they are aware we want to talk to him but nothing has come out of that,” he said
